Academy

Participation

Are you a pianist, cellist, festival maker, big band leader, singer or ensemble member who wants to rethink your concerts and rethink your artistic strategy? Then apply!

Academists are soloists or ensemble and orchestra musicians as well as (young) music managers. They range from holders of solo positions in renowned state orchestras to still-students. Many of them have won prizes at international music competitions such as the ARD Music Competition or the German Music Competition. What they have in common is high musical quality, curiosity and the will to develop their own concert practice.

We expect applicants to submit a CV with their most important concerts, projects and scholarships, an artistic statement on their own work and links to their own website as well as to, for example, concert recordings, Instagram, Spotify or Bandcamp.

In addition, we ask for a maximum three-minute video* in which the applicants introduce themselves personally and answer the following questions:

1. Why am I a musician?

2. What am I doing at the moment?

3. What would I like to do in two and five years?

4. With which question(s) do I go to the academy?

*The video does not have to be created professionally. It can be quite simple and free of technical refinements recorded with a smartphone.

The Concerto21 Academy 2024 will take place from June 19-23 and from July 22-27. The Academy will mostly be held in German, but we want to encourage musicians with basic German skills to apply. As the second academy language is English, good English skills are expected.

Applications closed on February 18, 2024. The next round of applications will open autumn/winter 2024.
