This was the Concerto21 Academy 2024
In two intensive academy weeks in June and July 2024, 16 musicians came together for the 16th time to work on their artistic identity, their programs and stage formats. The academy's alumni network now includes over one hundred musicians.
Over the years since the first Concerto21 Academy in 2008, much has been tried and tested, but the format also thrives on new impulses. The Swiss concept and performance artist Sandra Knecht brought a very special new impulse this year, whose experiences and insights, directness and depth had a lasting impact on and enriched not only the participants, but also the lecturers.
Marc Sinan, Roman Sladek, Konstantin Udert, Dominik Deuber, Annekatrin Hentschel, Albert Wiederspiel, Ansgar Wimmer and Martin Rohmeier provided further important impulses in the first week and Michael Gottfried, Sebastian Rohde, Annika Trost, Eva Maria Dessecker, Karl-Josef Pazzini, Sophie Colindres, Tom Schulz and Bettina Bohle in the second week. The musicians received intensive support over the two weeks from academy director Andreas Brandis in a duo with Sonia Simmenauer, not forgetting the mastermind behind the academy, Uta Gielke.
The success of the academy is highly dependent on the group dynamics, which are the responsibility of the participating musicians, and this year's expectations were exceeded once again! We hope and wish that the connections made during the two intensive weeks of workshops and strengthened over a glass of wine on the terrace will last and bear fruit for a long time to come.
With this in mind, a big thank you to Georg Kjurdian, Kateryna Kravchenko, Tabea Schrenk, Konrad Amrhein, Derya Atakan, Anne Keckeis, Michaela Špačková, Jean-Baptiste Mouret, Moritz Schneidewendt, Nina Gurol, Phillip Dornbusch, Hiromu Seifert, Samira Nowarra, Josefa Schmidt, Sophie Emilie Beha and Paul Ebert.
The musical and emotional highlight of the academy was the final concert.
